Dr Tanusha Govender, the CEO of Xlink chatted to the Partner Elite group about what goes into a turnaround strategy. Tanusha’s approach to strategy is deliberate and structured. Tanusha highlighted the importance of a leader knowing their true north and ensuring they lead any strategy with their values at the centre of the strategy. Part of Tanusha’s approach is to create a high performing organisation. This means taking someone beyond what they previously believed they could achieve. Tanusha is the first to admit that when you are tasked to turn around a business, the culture needs to change, and when that culture includes high performance, then often there is “noise” in the organisation that comes from those not able or willing to perform according to the new standards.
